TL;DR
This AB-330 cheat sheet for Microsoft's beta Implementing AI-Powered Supply Chain Operations with Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management exam lists the terms and the either/or choices that decide most scenario questions. Passing score is 700. Weights: source to pay 30-35%, inventory to deliver and order to cash 20-25% each.
Beta, checked 2026-10-26. Exam and credential are both beta per Microsoft's credential page. Beta exams are scored later, and the official practice assessment is not available. Objectives from the AB-330 study guide.

Glossary: Terms That Carry Exam Weight
Product and cost setup
| Term | Meaning | Trap to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Product dimension | Configuration, size, color | Always tracked financially |
| Storage dimension group | Controls how items are stored and issued: site, warehouse, location, status, license plate | Location can be physical but never financial |
| Tracking dimension group | Adds batch and serial tracking to a product | Financial inventory can be turned on for batch or serial under periodic costing models |
| Item model group | Inventory model and policies such as Physical negative, Financial negative, Fixed receipt price, Include physical value | It does not set cost tracking level |
| Reservation hierarchy | Orders the dimensions used when reserving inventory, above or below location | Above location means strict picking requirement |
| Unit sequence group | Unit conversion ratios for items sold or stocked in several units | Lets work be split in a different unit than the order |
| Product lifecycle state | User-defined state with Is active for planning and per-process Enabled, Blocked or Enabled with warning | Planning flag and process policy are separate |
Procurement and sales
| Term | Meaning | Trap to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase agreement | Commitment to buy a quantity or amount over time using multiple purchase orders | Its prices override trade agreements |
| Commitment | One line of an agreement, one of four types | Only the quantity type lets order lines change unit price (a changed price breaks fixed-price linkage if the Price and discount is fixed policy is on) |
| RFQ case | Document sent to vendors to collect bids | Purchase type decides what an accepted bid creates |
| Solicitation type | Sets the scoring criteria for RFQ replies | Not the document created on acceptance |
| ATP | Available-to-promise: uncommitted inventory, lead times, planned receipts and issues | Assumes infinite capacity |
| CTP | Capable-to-promise: ATP plus capacity, calculated by explosion | Standard CTP with Planning Optimization needs Near real-time CTP |
| Price attribute | Product, customer or order detail used as a pricing rule criterion | One header group plus one line group per rule |
| Price structure | Sequence of price component codes that builds the selling price | Base price plus adjustments equals selling price |
Warehouse and quality
| Term | Meaning | Trap to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Location directive | Rule that finds pick or put locations for a work order type | Has a sequence, lines and actions |
| Directive code | Links a work template line to a specific directive | Skips the sequence search |
| Wave template | Defines wave execution: Shipping, Production order or Kanban | Most specific criteria goes first in sequence |
| Work template | Pick and put operations for a work order type, with split limits | Needs at least one Pick and one Put |
| Work class | Limits what work a mobile worker can process | Pick and put lines of a template use the same class ID |
| Cross docking template | Directs received quantity straight to the outbound dock | At supply receipt supports production order supply only |
| Cycle count threshold | Creates counting work when a quantity or percentage limit is reached | A plan schedules counts instead |
| Quality association | Defines the event, tests, AQL and sampling plan that generate quality orders | Holds the quarantine-on-failure and blocking settings |
| Nonconformance | Record of a nonconforming product with a problem type | Does not create quarantine orders by itself |
| Quarantine order | Tracks inventory in a segregated area for inspection or disposition | Can be generated from a failed quality order |
Which Delivery Date Method Fits the Item?
Match the method to what limits the promise. Use sales lead time when a default number of days is enough, ATP for items sold from stock, ATP plus issue margin when stocked items need a preparation buffer, and CTP for assemble-to-order or make-to-order items where capacity matters. Batch CTP is the fallback when Near real-time CTP is off.
| Method | What it considers | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| Sales lead time | Default days only | Simple promise, stock and supply ignored |
| ATP | Material availability and planned supply | Items sold from stock |
| ATP + Issue margin | ATP plus time to prepare for shipment | Stocked items with a prep buffer |
| CTP | Materials and capacity through explosion | Assemble-to-order or make-to-order items |
| Batch CTP | Non-real-time CTP for Planning Optimization | Fallback when Near real-time CTP is off |
Set a global default in the accounts receivable parameters and override per product or per order as needed.
Which Purchase Agreement Commitment Type?
Pick the type by what the agreement fixes. Product quantity commits to a quantity of one product, product value to an amount for one product, product category value to an amount within one procurement category, and value to an amount across any products and categories. Only the quantity type lets order lines change unit price.
| Commitment type | Commits to | Order-line fields you can change |
|---|---|---|
| Product quantity | A quantity of one product | Unit price, price unit, discount percent, cash discount |
| Product value | An amount for one product | Discount percent |
| Product category value | An amount within one procurement category | Discount percent |
| Value | An amount across any products and categories | Discount percent |
- Max is enforced: totals across lines cannot exceed the commitment.
- Price and discount is fixed: a changed line price breaks the link and the line stops counting.
- RFQ purchase type Purchase agreement: accepted bid creates an agreement; Purchase order type creates a PO.
Which Warehouse Object Answers the Question?
Each object owns one question. A wave template decides when released work runs, a work template what steps it contains, a location directive where it is picked or put, a work class who can run it on a device, a reservation hierarchy which batch can be reserved, and a quality association when an inspection is created.
| If the question asks | Think |
|---|---|
| When does released work run? | Wave template |
| What steps does the work contain? | Work template |
| Where is it picked or put? | Location directive |
| Who can run it on a device? | Work class |
| Which batch can be reserved and picked? | Reservation hierarchy |
| When is an inspection created? | Quality association |
- Dimension above location: strict, workers cannot swap it. FEFO, same-batch reservation and batch disposition need batch above location.
- Dimension below location: set by the system or the worker. Do not enter it on order lines if work must be created.
- Cross docking, At supply receipt: production order supply only, with marking to the sales order.
Coverage Codes in One Table
| Code | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Manual | No suggested orders; planner creates them |
| Requirement | One planned order per requirement |
| Period | One order per period covering net requirements |
| Min/Max | Replenish to maximum when predicted on-hand drops below minimum |
| Priority | Buffer replenishment by minimum, reorder point and maximum, ranked by priority |
| Decoupling point | Marks a DDMRP buffer product |
Min/Max example: min 20, max 30, on-hand 8, multiple 0 gives a planned order of 22. Default coverage time fence is 100 days.
Production Order Status Ladder
| Status | What happens |
|---|---|
| Created | Order exists with BOM and route copied |
| Estimated | Item consumption and costs calculated; derived orders may be created |
| Scheduled | Operation or job scheduling adds dates and capacity reservations |
| Released | Ready to start; BOM lines released to warehouse when WMS is used |
| Started | Consumption can be reported |
| Reported as finished | Finished goods updated in inventory |
| Ended | Actual cost calculated; no more costs posted |
Reversing steps back one status at a time. Scheduled to Estimated removes dates and capacity reservations. Estimated to Created removes item consumption and, if selected, derived orders.
